We Help Therapists Build Multi 6-Figure Private Pay Practices
The Bad Therapist® helps burned out therapists raise their fees, reclaim their schedules, and build a business that feels good and pays well (with zero guilt and no insurance).
You Love Being A Therapist. But The Industry Hasn’t Always Loved You Back.
Therapists are the only professionals in the world expected to mold their schedule, pricing, and capacity to everyone else's needs.
They're told that being boundaried and wanting more money means their ethics are immediately on trial bang of the gavel
The pressure to keep giving (and giving, and giving) is real. For most therapists, the response to that pressure looks the same: take on more clients, lower the fee, bend the boundary, and ignore the burnout looming in the corner of the room with all the grace and subtlety of an elephant.
But here's what nobody in your grad program bothered to mention:
Our Therapist Code Of Ethics Applies To You, Too
Our code of ethics states you have a responsibility to maintain your own well-being and competence. You're not supposed to pour from an empty cup…your ethics literally require you to take care of yourself.
So why does charging what you're worth feel selfish? Why does protecting your time feel wrong? You tell your clients all the time their personal needs shouldn’t be negotiable. It's time to start practicing what you preach.
A therapist who honors their own needs…who charges fairly, protects their boundaries, who builds a business that lights them TF up is just gasp a better therapist.
That’s Because
There's A Difference Between A Good Therapist And A Bad Therapist.
And It's Not What You Think.
good ther·a·pist
/go͝od ˈTHerəpist/ noun
The talented, hardworking clinician who has somehow convinced themselves that wanting more money, working fewer hours, or having a cancellation policy makes them a bad person. Often found fully booked, financially stressed, and quietly resentful. Deeply caring. Chronically last on their own list. Ethics: unimpeachable. Bank account: unreliable.
bad ther·a·pist
/bad ˈTHerəpist/ noun
The highest compliment we give. A therapist who has decided — unapologetically — that they deserve to be paid well, work the hours they want, and see the clients they actually want to see. They finally started caring about themselves (not instead of, but in addition to their clients). Found with fewer, better, more high-paying private pay clients. See also: much less grumpy.
At The Bad Therapist® Being Bad Has Never Felt So Good

I’ll Help You Rewire Your “Good Therapist Conditioning™”
Good Therapist Conditioning™ is the deeply industry perpetuated, internalized belief that wanting to earn good money, work fewer hours, or have boundaries makes you a worse clinician. Here’s how we’re going to shift that.
Step 1:
Apply To Work With Me
Tell me about your practice, where you're stuck, and what you want to change. This helps me understand if I’m going to be a good fit and what you actually need.
Step 2:
Find A Match
Based on your situation, we'll choose the right program for you — whether that's group coaching, 1-on-1 work, or a specific training.
Step 3:
Join The “Dark Side” & Become A Bad Therapist
We’ll rewire your Good Therapist Conditioning™, raise your fees, attract aligned clients, and finally build a practice that pays you what you're worth and gives you your life back.

Ready to love being a therapist again? ✦
Hi! Felicia Keller Boyle - AKA The Bad Therapist®
When I decided to become a therapist, I did everything the industry told me would make me good at my job.
By every reasonable estimation, I was crushing it at being a “good therapist”.
But my good therapist conditioning was starting to put a bitter taste in my mouth. I was walking dogs + cleaning houses as my side hustle, stressing about adding avocado, and complaining like a broken record because I still didn’t have enough money to afford the life I wanted (which includes a healthy amount of avocado).
With a $2,000 loan and a prayer, I opened my own private practice and decided to run the business exactly how I wanted to.
I launched my private practice working 3 days a week, cash pay only, and generated six-figures in my first year. Becoming a “bad therapist” was the happiest and most fulfilled I’d ever been in my career.
Now I’m on a mission to help therapists build unapologetic six-figure private practices of their own taking fewer clients, charging higher fees, and having more fun in a leather jacket than anyone should reasonably have.

Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT THE BAD THERAPIST®
-
Your therapy practice should sustain you financially, emotionally, and professionally. Money is part of that. So yes - we talk about your schedule, your boundaries, your client load, and how to make more money.
-
That feeling is exactly what we're here to work through. Your code of ethics actually requires you to maintain your own wellbeing and competence. A therapist who is burned out, resentful, and undercharging isn't serving their clients better.
-
That's the Good Therapist Conditioning™ talking. There's never a perfect moment. If you're on this page, something already shifted. Start with a training if you're not ready to go all in — but don't let "not ready" become a permanent address.
ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER
-
Most business coaching is focused on helping you get a few more insurance clients. Our signature program, Liberated Business has a specific focus on going private pay and so your practice is no longer reliant on insurance. It’s a 7-phase process that does well beyond basic business coaching or what you can find for free online. If you’re a therapist who’s ready to move past the basics to refine and elevate your private practice, Liberated Business is a different kind of coaching (in the best way).
-
When you apply, we'll figure that out together. You don't need to know which offer is the right fit before you reach out, that's what the application process is for.
-
Yes. If you're wise enough to see the good therapist trap before you fall all the way into it, you're exactly who we want to work with.
-
That depends on the work you put in. What we can tell you is that therapists who do the work raise their fees, cut their caseloads, and make more money — often within the first few months.
-
Most of the time, yes. Reach out and we'll figure out what works for your situation and the program you choose.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMS
-
Group programs give you the curriculum, the community, and regular access to me in a shared setting. Meanwhile, 1:1 coaching is private, focused entirely on your practice, and gives you direct access to me between sessions.
-
We handle concerns on a case by case basis, but before you decide this isn't working, reach out. Most challenges that feel like a mismatch are actually things we can work through together. Our program is a commitment, and we take fulfilling that commitment seriously on both sides.
-
Yes — start with the Start Strong Kit and your investment applies toward your next step when you're ready to go deeper.
Still have questions?
and we'll answer them.
Good Therapist Conditioning™ Has Been Running Your Practice Long Enough
You can keep white-knuckling it and adjusting your fees $10 at a time, taking on one more client, and telling yourself it'll get easier when things settle down.
Or you can decide that your needs are non-negotiable and build a practice around them.
Therapists who work with us raise their fees, reclaim their schedules, and build practices that actually sustain them. The only thing standing between you and that is the decision to stop being good for everyone else at your own expense.
Get One Uncomfortable Truth (You Need To Hear) Delivered To Your Inbox Every Week
Every week I share one insight, one strategy, and one thing the good therapist in you probably doesn't want to hear — but needs to. You’ll get straight talk about fees, boundaries, marketing, and building a private practice that pays you what you're worth (revolutionary, I know). If you're not ready to work together yet, this is the best place to start. And it's free.
